A Voice Legacy Solutions service

Legacy sound restoration

Old voicemails, cassette dubs, and home recordings — restored to sound like themselves again, and sent back to you safely.

Some recordings are worth more than the format they're stuck in. We clean up old and damaged audio — removing hiss, hum, and noise — so the voice underneath comes through clearly again. Anywhere in the U.S., fully by mail and online.

Why this matters

Recordings don't last forever — even when the memory does

Computers degrade. Old voicemails get deleted when a phone dies or a plan changes. Home recordings sit on formats nothing can play anymore.

The voice is still in there — it just needs someone to bring it back out before it's lost for good.

What is legacy sound restoration?

Legacy sound restoration cleans up old and damaged audio — voicemails, cassette dubs, home recordings — to sound as good as the source allows.

Upload your file(s) below along with anything you know about the recording. Some damage from the original recording (severe distortion, long dropouts) may not be fully removable, but we'll always tell you upfront if that's the case.

How it works

Three steps, start to finish. We make restoring your cherished audio simple, safe, and stress-free.

Step 1 — Upload

Send us your audio file through the form below, along with a quick note about where it came from.

Step 2 — We restore it

We clean up background noise, hum, and clicks, and balance the volume so the recording sounds as clear as the original allows.

Step 3 — You get it back

Your restored audio is delivered digitally within 5–7 business days, plus a physical USB backup mailed to you for safekeeping.

What's included

Every restoration is handled with meticulous care and attention to detail, ensuring your irreplaceable recordings sound their absolute best.

Careful cleanup

Every recording is treated individually — background noise reduced, clicks and pops removed, and levels balanced, without over-processing a voice into sounding artificial.

Fast turnaround

Because this is a streamlined service, most orders are completed within 5–7 business days of us receiving your file.

A physical backup

Every order includes a mailed USB drive with your finished audio — a copy that's yours to keep, independent of any account or download link.

Simple, upfront pricing

$35 per recording, up to 20 minutes in length. Sending more than one? Each additional recording in the same order is just $25. Have something longer than 20 minutes? Contact us for a quick custom quote.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our legacy sound restoration service, pricing, and audio guidelines.

How much does this cost?

$35 per recording (up to 20 minutes). Each additional recording in the same order is discounted to $25. Have something longer than 20 minutes? Send us a note through the form and we'll quote it directly.

What kinds of recordings can I send?

Old voicemails, cassette or answering-machine transfers, home recordings, and similar audio files. If you're not sure whether yours qualifies, send us a note through the form and we'll let you know.

What if my recording is badly damaged?

We restore audio to the best quality the original allows. Some damage — like severe distortion or long dropouts — can be improved but not always fully removed. We'll always tell you upfront if we expect a limitation like this.

How do I get my files back?

You'll receive a digital download link, plus a physical USB drive with your finished recordings mailed to you.

Is this the same as Voice Banking?

No — Voice Banking is our guided service for people preserving their own voice ahead of speech loss from ALS or a similar condition. Legacy Sound Restoration is for cleaning up recordings that already exist, for anyone who wants to preserve a piece of family history.

Do I need any special equipment?

No. Just the audio file you'd like restored — upload it below and we'll handle the rest.

Ready to restore your recording?

Upload your file below and tell us a bit about it. We'll follow up within 1 business day to confirm we've received it.

Preserving what matters most

Some voices are gone. Some recordings just need a little help sounding like themselves again.
